Norma Eileen Reininger, 83, of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away February 12, 2021 at SSM of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. In earlier years, Norma had worked for the candy factory in Ashley, Illinois. She later worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, and also babysat with many children. She belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Mt. Vernon.
Burial will be private in Sursa Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, IL. There will be no public visitation or service. Memorials may be to Breast Cancer Awareness or to the Donor’s choice and will be received by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O. Surviving is her grandson, Chad Shreves and wife Amy of Mt. Vernon, IL, and great grandchildren Druw Shreves of Mt. Vernon, IL, Karley and Taylor Johnson of Benton, IL, along with a half-sister, Vanetta Henshaw and husband Don, nephew Lee Henshaw and nieces Lori, Shelby Garrison, Kelli Graves and Terrye Howerton.
Born November 21, 1937 in Danville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Fred Harold and Etta F. (Scrutchfield) McIntyre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ricky Joe Shreves, his wife Diana Lynn Shreves, and son Michael Kim Shreves, November 28, 2020, sisters Wanda Piercy, Doris Morlan, Ruth Marcum and brother Harold McIntyre.
