Amy M. Shafer, 42, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 am December 15, 2020 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Amy worked as a phlebotomist for the Department of Public Health. She was of the Christian faith. Amy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon with Mr. Randy Sells officiating. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be made in Amy’s honor to a charity of the donor’s choice. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 10 people under the tent at a time. Following the CDC and NFDA regulations, we encourage everyone to wear a mask. They will be made available, upon request. In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her children, Lane Shafer, Madison Shafer, and Aly Bond; grandchildren, Brantley, Raelynn, Kensley, and Bailee; brothers, Eric Shafer and wife, Katie and Ryan Shafer and wife, Rachel; and several nieces.
She was born December 31, 1977 to Philip and Barbara (Copple) Shafer. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents.
