Larry Becker, 79, of Salem, Illinois passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at St. Mary’ Hospital in Centralia, Illinois at the age of 79. In 1962 he married Bonnie L. Fisher Becker and enjoyed 58 years of marriage. He has one son Darren Becker of Salem, two grandsons Dustin and Mason, and a great grandson Maxwell Becker all of Colorado. Larry had Becker Construction for 50 years. He is a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Larry also volunteered with the Salem Missions. He made 5 trips to Haiti to help build and witness to the Haitians. Larry loved bow hunting, fishing and Cardinal baseball, his family and going to Frist Baptist Church in Salem.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Salem with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Salem American Legion Post #128. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or First Baptist Church in Salem and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Larry leaves 2 brothers from Salem; Gale ( Becky) Becker and Jim (Linda) Becker, a sister Mary (Roger) Bartley of Iuka and several nieces and nephews.

He was born August 21, 1941 to Vernon and Geneva Becker in Iuka, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael.
