Shirley Coeta Weathersby, 81, of Centralia was greeted by the angels as she went Home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was born on May 20, 1939, the daughter of John and Anna (Coleman) Davenport in Centralia.
Shirley had a kind, giving soul and wanted to encourage others with her words and actions. She worked as a loyal employee of Warren G. Murray Center where she shared her positive personality with those in her care and her co-workers. Shirley also was an asset to SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia working diligently to make her workplace run smoothly. Shirley was a faithful member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia. Her service for her Lord and Savior was evident in the humble way she made herself available for any task that she could offer her special gifts and talents to. She enjoyed gardening and found peace in the beauty of the gorgeous flowers she nurtured. Shirley was an intelligent woman and was well-read as she was an avid reader. She was excellent with a fishing rod and reel and would fry up her delicious catch to share with family and friends. Shirley will be remembered as an awesome Mom, always giving her heart and soul to support, comfort, and love on her family. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved.
Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Shirley Weathersby with arrangements. A graveside celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and abide by social distancing protocol. Memorials may be made in Shirley’s honor to the Family’s Wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors that will remember cherished moments of Shirley pouring out her love and generosity to others include her beloved family, son, Ernest Weathersby, Sr. of Somerville, MA; grandson, Ernest Weathersby, Jr. of Memphis, TN; and sister, Sharry Davenport of Centralia.
Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents; and her brother, Lovery Davenport.
