Gary D. Harper, 66 of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Salem, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, at the Regional Hospital, The Villages, Fl.
Graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy, IL. Saturday, December 19, at 11 am.
Gary was born July 21, 1954, in Salem, IL. The son of Wilson and Katheryn (Gray) Harper.
He was the husband of Barbara (Gross) Harper of The Villages, Fl. and the father of Shawn A. Harper of Iuka,IL.
Gary retired from Egyptian Concrete in Salem after 30 years of employment. Gary and Barbara enjoyed 37 years of marriage and would tell you they had the time of their lives.
Survivors include his wife Barbara, son Shawn and wife Kristy Harper of Iuka, stepchildren; Shannon Weaver and John Sparks of Salem, sisters; Barbara Riley and husband Tom of Tyler, Tx., Ella Arnold of Salem, Katie Helm and husband Bob of Salem, and Melba Ford of Kinmundy, brother, John Harper of The Villages, Fl. and sisters-in-law, Rita Harper and Tamme Harper of Salem. Also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob Harper, Frank Harper, and Bill Harper, and brothers-in-laws George Arnold and Dwain Ford.
