2021 08/20 – Robert Edward Lee

Robert Edward Lee, 76, of Dix, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Crossroads Community Hospital, in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Lee was a mechanic for Texaco Pipeline and National Railway Equipment Company, and after his retirement, was a people greeter at Walmart. He graduated from Rome Grade School and Woodlawn High School, and was a member Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and Masonic Lodge #31, in Mt. Vernon. He enjoyed quail hunting, fishing and gardening, and was a caring person who loved his family.

Funeral services for Mr. Lee will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. On May 18, 1975, in Mt. Vernon, he married Charlotte Kay Taylor, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Charlotte Kay Lee of Dix; he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Reeves and husband Tyler of Bluford, and Melinda Clark and husband Kenny of Parma, Missouri; six grandchildren, Derek Reeves and wife Ashleigh of Marion, Lindsey Burwell and husband Blaze of Mt. Vernon, Nicholas Clark of Parma, Missouri, James Potts of Ina, Jaymi Kyle of Carbondale, and Jesse Boldrey of Centralia; five great-grandchildren, Addison Reeves, Pearson Burwell, Kaysliee Kyle, and Lydia Orasco; and brother, Paul Lee and wife Connie of Centralia.

He was born on June 20, 1945, in Dix, the son of James Edward and Marjorie Helen (Sanders) Lee. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; a sister, Edna Stanick; three brothers-in-law, Donald Mulvany, Frank Stanick and Jim Johnson; and stepsons, Kevin and James Boldrey.
