2021 08/16 – Harold Bratcher

Harold Bratcher, 88, of Texico, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 am on August 13, 2021, with his family by his side.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dix, Illinois. Harold enjoyed traveling with his family in his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held Monday, August 16, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dix, Illinois. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #141. He was born November 20, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Russell and Myrtle (Stevens) Bratcher. Harold married Betty Jo (Mills) Bratcher on January 13, 1953, in Mount Vernon, Indiana. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage.

In addition to his beloved wife, Harold is survived by his children, Vicki Hayes and husband, Reverend Randy, Michael Wayne Bratcher and wife, Jana, all of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Rebecca Jo Frisby and husband, Jerry of Texico; grandchildren, Melanie Kyle and husband, Erik of Toledo, Ohio, Jeremy Hayes and wife, Natalie of Smithton, Illinois, Reverend Travis Hayes and wife, Nicole of Mount Vernon, Caleb Bratcher of Texico, Randa Trout and husband, Derick of Mount Vernon, Rachel Haynes and husband, Mike of Mount Vernon, Dr. Jared Frisby and wife, Brooke of Saint Louis, Missouri, Luke Bratcher of Mount Vernon, and Alexandra Windings and husband, Christopher of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son, Harold Timothy Bratcher; sister, Mildred Hunt; and niece, Susie Hunt.
