Jean M. (Brown) Oulrey, age 62 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her home in Salem. Jean worked as an insurance underwriter and bookkeeper at Joe Black Insurance Agency for many years. Family was the most important thing in her life; She was the glue that held them all together.

Survivors include: her sons, Mathew Haas, his wife Kelly of Salem, and Jason Haas of Salem. Mother, Mary Daenzer of Salem. Brother, Jim Brown of Salem, and two sisters, Tina Chappell, her husband John of Salem, and Kathleen Brown of Belleville. Grandchildren Hunter and Jaliegh Haas, and Makenzie Tharp. Father and mother in-law, Buck and Darlene Oulrey of Salem. Brother-in-law Garry Oulrey and his wife Suetta of Salem. Sister-in-law, Peggy Jones and her husband Mike of Walnut Hill. Nieces and nephews inlcude: Justin Black, Becky Vosholler, her husband Tyler, Baylee Black, Tabitha Oulrey, Amanda Guerrettaz, her husband Jason, Tyson Moore and his wife Tierney, Kody Moore and his wife Courtney, Kaitlyn Brown, Rachel Brown, and Donald Timms Carlson, and his wife Maddie. Great nephews Hunter O’Dell, Gabrielle Vosholler, and great niece Raelynn O’Dell.
Jean was born on May 24, 1959 in Belleville, IL the daughter of John William “Bill” Brown and Mary (Rolen) Daenzer. She married Terry Oulrey on April 3, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and sister Patty Carlson.
