Wilma J. Franklin, 90, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:40 am August 5, 2021 at Mount Vernon Health Care Center.

Wilma is survived by her grandchildren, Stacy (Irwin) Wahlquist and husband, Kent of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Jason Irwin of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Kileigh Irwin, Jonas Wahlquist, and Iris Wahlquist; sister-in-law, Mary LeMay of Mount Vernon; and nephew and nieces, Steve LeMay and wife, Debbie of Mount Vernon, Sharon (LeMay) Lewis and husband, David of Fairfield, Illinois, and Michelle LeMay of Mount Vernon.
She was born September 5, 1930 in Mount Vernon to the late Sheridan and Nora (Tabor) LeMay. Wilma married Leo Franklin on June 6, 1952. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 29, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, Wilma was preceded in death by her children, Larry Franklin and Debra Sweeten; son-in-law, Tom Sweeten; and siblings, Wesley LeMay, Mary Lou Amore, and Dale LeMay.
