June Leckrone, age 76 of Hoffman and formerly of Salem, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family during a time of prayer with Pastor Mark Hofferber.
June was born on July 28, 1945, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of John and Lillian (Ryan) Edwards. She married the love of her life Bob Leckrone on January 4, 1976, in Carlyle. This union produced a great love for one another and they also became business partners. They worked together to build and start Leckrones, LLC. gun business in 1976, which is still in operation today. In 1982, they brought back the Egyptian Collectors Association and ran one of the largest gun shows in the state of Illinois, which still goes on today with the help of her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Denise Edwards. She had her own gun-related accessories display at the shows which took up 22 tables. During her years in the gun business, she amassed one of the largest personal gun collections. June was always highly motivated and was known as a go-getter.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Mark Hofferber officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Survivors include her beloved husband, Bob; four sons, Danny, Chris, Darin, and Shawn; five daughters, Tammy, Tracy, Tanga, Tawana, and Toni; grandchildren, Amanda, Courtney, Lucas, Margot, Maddie, Makayla, and Kirsten; several great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Edwards and wife Denise; and her beloved dog, Kevlar.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John Edwards.
