2021 08/04 – Charles Halterman

Charles Halterman, age 78 of Farina, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at his home. Charles worked as a truck driver retiring from Blomberg Trucking. He had many stories to tell of his years spent behind the wheel. After retirement, Charles could often be found cruising the streets of Farina in his golf cart. Charles enjoyed camping, his cell phone, playing rummy, showing off pictures of his grandkids at the Farina Restaurant and BP, and spending time with his loving wife and family. Charles was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Charles Halterman will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friedens United Church of Christ in Farina with Pastor Jerry Gezell officiating. Burial will follow at the Elder Cemetery in Kinmundy. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Friedens United Church of Christ in Farina or to the American Cancer Society and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.

He married Donna Pickel on November 4, 1962 and she survives in Farina. Survivors include his wife, Donna Halterman; a son, Randy Halterman and wife Chris; a daughter, Teresa Boyles and fiancé Lloyd Holder; a brother, Lester Halterman and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Lucas Sigrist and wife Kellie, Jennifer Halterman, Andrea Halterman, Dylan Halterman and wife Meslissa, and Tara Thompson and husband Corey; great-grandchildren, Mason, Ava, Colton, Caine, Chloe Addyson, Haizlee, Chase and Kinley.

Charles was born on February 2, 1943 in Clay County, the son of Nathel “Buck” and Catherine (Jones) Halterman. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Halterman and Joe Halterman; a sister, Wanda Halterman; and a granddaughter, Rachel Sigrist.
