Marcia Kay “Marcy” VanDenBerge, 73, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 1:52 pm July 5, 2021, at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon.
Marcy was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon. Additionally, she enjoyed camping, crafting, and traveling with Gary. Marcy also loved her dogs and horses and was known for fostering many animals – wild and domestic. Most of all, Marcy loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and adored her.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 pm with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Memorials may be made in Marcy’s honor to the First Presbyterian Church. She was born June 30, 1948, in Kankakee, Illinois to Kathryn (Kincaid) and the late Raymond Page. Marcy married Gary VanDenBerge on January 31, 1970, in Springfield, Illinois. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage.
In addition to her beloved husband and mother, Marcy is survived by her daughters, Kathy Welko (Matt) and Kelli Starck (James); three granddaughters, Samantha, Alyssa, and Josephine; brother, Kenneth Page (Connie); and nephews, Jake, Brian, and Charlie.
