2021 06/27 – Bradley Martin “Brad” Hayes

Bradley Martin “Brad” Hayes, 56, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on June 24, 2021 at his residence. Brad worked for Millwright Local Union 716 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was a member of Campground Baptist Church with his wife, as well as the King City Saddle Club, AQHA American Quarter Horse Association, and the IBRA International Barrel Racing Association. Brad loved training Colts to get the best potential out of them. Brad also enjoyed coon and deer hunting. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Hopewell Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Don Rector officiating. Interment will follow. In addition to his beloved wife, Brad is survived by his siblings, Stoney Hayes and wife, Pam of Taylorville, Illinois, Kim Dock and husband, Mike of Mount Vernon, and Mark Hayes and wife, Rhonda of Centralia, Illinois; special friends, Tim Oxby, Gene Fletcher, and our horse show family; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was born May 7, 1965 in Mount Vernon to Thomas and the late Barbara (Swader) Hayes. Bradley married the love of his life, Leslie (Atkins) Hayes on June 25, 1991 in Paris, Tennessee. They were blessed with 30 years of marriage. Brad was preceded in death by his mother and uncle, Rick Hayes.
