George Everett Brimberry, 79, of Alma passed away at 5:43 a.m., on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at his home in Alma. George worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a machine operator for about 18 years. George loved the outdoors, shooting guns and fishing. He was a true outdoorsman.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Martin Cemetery, Alma with Josh Conley officiating, everyone attending the services is asked to meet at the cemetery. Following the services, a meal will be provided at the house. A celebration of life service will also be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. George is survived by his wife Linda Schoreck. They were married April 2, 1977 in Alma, Illinois. Also survived by his 13 children; Cheryl Brimberry of Carbondale, Dale Brimberry of Alma, Denise Brimberry of Kinmundy, Jake (Holly) Brimberry of Kinmundy, Tim Peddicord of Texas, Randy Peddicord of Florida, Steve Peddicord of Texas, Mark Peddicord of Texas, Danny Peddicord of Kinmundy, Terry Peddicord of Texas, Tina Hines of Alma, Chad (Kendra) Schoreck of Iuka, and Jerry (Casey) Schoreck of Kinmundy. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
George was born on September 29, 1941, in Salem, Illinois, the son of Joe Brimberry and Minnie “Mulvaney”. Mr. Brimberry was preceded in death by his parents, grandson; Tyler W. Phillips, brother; Bob Brimberry, and sister; Mary Lawson, and first wife; Maxine Brimberry.
