Sharon Adams Beard, 71, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:44 am on June 12, 2021, at her residence in Mount Vernon.
Mrs. Beard taught as an elementary school teacher for twenty years. She was raised in Portageville, Missouri, and graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 1972. Sharon was a member of First United Methodist Church, Garden Glories in Mount Vernon, and member of the Friends of the United Methodist Children’s Home. She loved her cat and enjoyed yard work. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and nana and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 pm with Reverend Victor Long officiating. Memorials may be made in Sharon’s honor to the benefit of Alexis Neal in the care of Sarah Beard.

She was born November 18, 1949, in Bakersville, California to the late Leon and Geraldine (Wilson) Adams. Sharon married Mike Beard on November 27, 1970.
In addition to her loving husband of over fifty-one years, Sharon is survived by her daughters, Sarah Beard and significant other, Steve Neal of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Stefanie Limpert and husband, Jason of Imperial, Missouri; grandchildren, Kennedy Limpert, Jakob Limpert, Grant Minor, Caden Limpert, and Bryson Minor; sister, Cathy Kitchen of Saint Louis, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Adams.
