2021 06/16 – Swami Shivananda

Swami Shivananda, formerly known as Clif Watkins, 57, of Shobonier passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his home. Swami was the title given as a teacher of the Hindu faith. A title, Swami Shivananda carried with honor and respect, as he felt privileged to share with others the teachings he was instilled with. He was a United States Airforce veteran, serving in England for a tour. Traveling the country was a passion of his and he enjoyed sharing stories of his travels. His daughter, Anastasia was the joy of his life and he tried to never miss an opportunity to spend time with her. Swami Shivananda will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is privileged to be assisting the family of Swami Shivananda with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family at a future date. Swami Shivananda is survived by his beloved family, his mother, Nancy Watkins of Shobonier; Anastasia Danielle (Shawn) Elmore of Arizona; brother, Robert (Cheryl) Watkins; and nieces and nephews.

He was born on November 3, 1963, the son of Charles and Nancy (O’Daniel) Watkins in Bloomington. Swami was preceded in death by his father, Charles Watkins; and his brother, Christopher Watkins.
