Leah Pearle Adams, 95, passed away on June 5, 2021 at The Avenue in North Ridgeville, OH. Leah graduated from Kinmundy High School and attended two years of college at Chicago Evangelical Institute. For a while Leah taught at Jones School in Patoka, Illinois, a one room schoolhouse. Leah loved to play the piano and sing, sew, quilt, crochet and read her bible. All those who had the honor of being in her home for dinner can attest to her amazing cooking skills and legendary homemade hot rolls.

Burial will be at Patoka Cemetery, Patoka, IL, with private graveside rites to be held on Monday, June 14. Leah is survived by two daughters, Beverly Gillock (G. David) of North Ridgeville, OH and Cheryl McLaughlin (Weldon) of Wylie, TX; six grandchildren, A. Kristen Gillock of Elyria, OH, Erica Powers (Scott) of Avon Lake, OH, Alison Gates (Timothy) of North Ridgeville, OH, Emily Green (Troy) of Hilliard, OH, James E. of Charleston, IL and Nathan Joslin (Christina) of Taylorville, IL; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, one of whom she had a very special bond.
Leah was born on August 10, 1925 in Foster Township, Marion County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Arnold) Walton. Leah and Carl McClain Adams of Patoka, IL eloped to Springfield, IL and were married on June 30, 1947. Carl passed away December 6, 1999. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl, daughter Angela Rentschler, and one great grandchild Charles Gillock, and by her parents and four brothers, M. Duane, W. Keith, C, Marlin (Ione), and James.
