2021 06/13 – Bernice Marie Tune

Bernice Marie Tune, 76 of Patoka passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Bernice was co-owner of Tune Trucking of Patoka along with her husband Roger. She was a school bus driver and worked for the Patoka Postal Service for 35 years as a mail carrier. Bernice loved her grandchildren and was so proud to be a grandmother.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is privileged to be assisting the family of Bernice Tune with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the Patoka United Methodist Church with Pastor Cheryl Cain officiating. Friends are welcome to a visitation time to offer condolences to the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church, where those in attendance will be asked to follow the CDC guidelines concerning those vaccinated, masks, and social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bernice’s honor to the Patoka City Cemetery or the Patoka Civic Center. She married Roger Tune on August 17, 1963, at the Patoka Christian Church and he survives her in Patoka. Along with her husband of 57 years, survivors include, son, Jeff (Nina) Tune of Patoka, and daughter, Michele (David) Williams of Peoria; grandchildren, Kara (Adam) Belcher, Ryan (Rachel) Tune, Chance Thompson, Logan (Kati) Thompson, and Abby Thompson; great-grandchildren, Gwen, Addyson and Burke Belcher, Jack and Halle Tune, and one on the way; brothers, John Heinrich, and Mike Heinrich, and sister, Sherry Neal.

She was born on December 27, 1944, the daughter of Alice and Robert Heinrich. Bernice was preceded in death by both her parents; and her sisters, Martha Copple, and Mary Lou Steffy.
