2021 06/13 – Braden Michael Heck

Braden Michael Heck, 24, of Waltonville, Illinois, passed away at 7:52 pm June 7, 2021 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Braden worked as a carpenter for his father at Greg’s Renovations. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Braden will be deeply missed.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 10:30 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with Reverend Jimmie Fitzjerrells officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Braden’s honor to the Heck family, in care of Emily Heck. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Following the CDC and NFDA regulations, we encourage everyone who has not been vaccinated to wear a mask. They will be made available, upon request. Braden is survived by his wife, Emily (Arnold) Heck of Waltonville; daughter, Brayley Heck of Waltonville; father, Greg Heck and wife, Jamie of Mount Vernon; Maranda “Mandy” (Fleener) Sloan and husband, Rhett of Waltonville; siblings, Shyla (Heck) Key and husband, Josh of Christopher, Illinois and Allen Heck II of Scheller, Illinois; grandparents, Rudy Frisch and wife, Bev of Scheller and J.K. Fleener and wife, Sara of Johnston City, Illinois; great-grandmother, Earlene Greenwalt of Wayne City, Illinois; uncles, John Boy Fleener and Bobby Heck, both of Mount Vernon; aunt, Tammy Cullen of Woodlawn; best friend, Jacob Keip of Mount Vernon; parents-in-law, June Dennis and Patrick Arnold, both of Woodlawn; brother-in-law, Jared Arnold of Woodlawn; and niece, Avery Key.

He was born January 26, 1997 in Mount Vernon. Braden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry Heck and wife, Mildred (Midge); great-grandparents, Geral Greenwalt and Fred Fleener and wife, Mildred; and uncle, Allen Heck.
