Wanda L. Hopkins(Hahn), 83, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:25 pm June 1, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. Mrs. Hopkins worked at Illinois Power Company as a customer service representative for thirty-seven years before retiring. She was a member of West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also heavily involved in several groups at First Community Church and served as Deacon prior to that. Wanda will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Reverend Harold Quick officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Wanda ‘s honor to West Salem Trinity United Methodist Church or the donor’s choice. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Wanda is survived by her husband, Tom Hopkins; son, Chris Hahn and wife, Christy; step-sons, Terry Hopkins, Rodney Hopkins and Jerry Hopkins; grandchildren, Connor Hahn, Caleigh Hahn, Carter Hahn, Celeste Hahn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was born December 31, 1937 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Jesse and Beulah (Pierce) Deen. Wanda married Donald Hahn on April 4, 1964 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly thirty-six years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 19, 2000. Wanda then married Tom Hopkins on July 17, 2004 in Ozark, Arkansas. They were happily married for sixteen years. In addition to her parents and first husband, Donald Hahn, Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Brent Hahn and twin sister, Norma Jean Deen.
