Vikki Cleveland, age 70 of Salem, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Odin Health Care and Rehab.
Vikki was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Salem. She was an English and Foreign Languages teacher for 34 years at Patoka High School. She served as the school yearbook sponsor for many years. She enjoyed genealogy and started the Cleveland Family Chronicles.
An open house celebration of life services will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home. Those attending are encouraged to wear their Patoka Warriors or St. Louis Cardinals apparel. Memorial contributions can be made to Patoka High School or Salem Animal Control and can be left at Crouse Funeral Home who is assisting the family with the arrangements. Vikki was born on March 3, 1951, in Salem, Illinois the daughter of Josephus “Ral” and Lela Jeanne (Garich) Cleveland.
Survivors include her aunt, Loretta Garich of Allen, TX; nephews, Chris Vines and Aaron Cleveland; niece, Stacy Cleveland; and her besties, Pam “Pammy” Deckard, Melinda Thoman, and JoLynne Payne. She was also survived by many other close friends and hundreds of kids she had the pleasure of teaching over her many years at Patoka High School.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, P.J. and Delia Garich paternal grandparents, Joel Harland and Salome Dell Cleveland; sister, Johnnie Marie Cleveland; brother, Monte Ral Cleveland; and several aunts and uncles.
