Joan G. Quick, 88, of Centralia, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center. Joan worked at Warren G. Murray Center as a clothing supervisor for 27 years. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her flowers and cooking. Joan cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Funeral Services for Joan Quick will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Carl Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Little Grove Cemetery in Walnut Hill. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Joan is survived by her three sons: Chuck Hamburg and wife Karen of Odin, Donald Hamburg and wife Robin of Cocoa, Florida, and Jack Hamburg and wife Louise of Carlyle; 10 grandchildren: Charles D. “Chuckie” Hamburg of Centralia, Angie Mullins of Centralia, Jacob Boggs of Odin, Jordan Moghadam of Kell, Heather Wysong and husband Duane of Jacksonville, Florida, Dawna Colburn and husband Steve of Texas, Kori Hamburg of Kentucky, Shelly Kerwin and husband Steve of Carlyle, Greg Arnold and wife Myra of Central City, and Karen Michelle Yardley and husband Billie of Shattuc; 19 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was born September 12, 1932 in Centralia, the daughter of Charles H. Bosley and Cora (Nichols) Bosley. Joan married Jack D. Hamburg on April 1, 1949 and they later divorced. She married Robert “Bob” Quick on September 1, 1989 and he preceded her in death. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Frances Bosley, and a great-grandson and great-granddaughter.
