Willard “Boyman” Wease, 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:36 am May 28, 2021, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Willard, lovingly known as Boyman, worked for 22 years at Coca-Cola in DuQuoin, Illinois. He enjoyed horseback riding and kayaking. Willard was an animal lover who had a passion for rescuing them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and adored him.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Liz Duncan Burge officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Willard’s honor to the Perry County Humane Society or the Jefferson County Humane Society.

He was born December 20, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana to the late Willard and Naomi (Mays) Wease, Sr. Willard married Patti (Atwood) Wease on March 27, 1981.
In addition to his beloved wife of 40 years, Willard is survived by his beloved friend, Heather Glenn and family of Mount Vernon; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Pat Atwood of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law, Norman Atwood of Missouri; siblings, Wilma Holt and husband, Coy of Bluford, Illinois, Sue James and Don Baker of Florida, Wanda Brunker and husband, Harold of Tennessee, Patrick Wease and wife, Kim of Indiana, and Bessie Kohler of Mount Vernon; and several nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wease.
