2021 05/19 – Lois Mae Dejournett

Lois Mae DeJournett, 89, of Bluford, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Salem Township Hospital, in Salem, surrounded by her immediate family.

She was born November 22, 1931, in rural Keenes, the daughter of Voris and Clara Coil.  On April 11, 1953, she married Carl DeJournett, and he preceded her in death in 2004.

She was a life-long, faithful, member of New Home (Lowery) General Baptist Church.  She loved her yard and garden, but one of her greatest joys was being surrounded by her family.  She attended Shields Grade School and High School and graduated from Wayne City High School.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeJournett will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at New Home (Lowery) General Baptist Church, with Rev. Harry Thomason officiating.  Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the hour of service, Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to New Home Cemetery or Greenwalt Cemetery, and these will be received at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.  She is survived by her children, Becky Catron and husband Paul, Myrna Huff and husband Rick, David DeJournett and wife Tracy, Tim DeJournett and wife Kristie, and Steve DeJournett and wife Sarah;  grandchildren, Nathaniel Catron and wife Jess, Jennifer Catron-Outlaw and husband Paul, Matt Huff, Jeremy Huff, Brandon Huff and wife Lyndsey, Aubrey Johnson and husband Spud, Devon DeJournett and wife Jennifer, Brett Leadingham and wife Faith, Shayne DeJournett, Hailey Norris and husband Marcus, and Hannah DeJournett;  great-grandchildren, Evan, Noah, Elvi, Sidney, Collin, Leo, Elliott, Gwyneth, Gavin, Tanner, River, Hunter, Corbin, Ryker, Larkin, and Colt;  and brother, Don Coil.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler DeJournett;  two brothers, Roy and Otis Coil;  and her parents.
