Nancy L. Peeples, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9:23 am May 14, 2021, at her residence.
Nancy worked as a teacher for District 80 for many years. She was a faithful member of Logan Street Baptist Church. Nancy was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew and adored her.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Following the CDC and NFDA regulations, we encourage everyone who has not been vaccinated to wear a mask. She was born August 17, 1936, in Mount Vernon to the late Neil and Allene (Brock) Williams. Nancy married Jimmie Peeples in Mount Vernon.
In addition to her beloved husband, Nancy is survived by her sons, Steven N. Peeples and wife, Patti of Mount Vernon and Scott A. Peeples and wife, Beth of Fults, Illinois; grandchildren, Lucas Peeples and wife, Brittany, Alexandria Peeples, Gary Peeples and wife, Rachel, Jared Warren, Amanda Barnett and husband, Jeff, and Nick Warren and wife, Amy; great-grandchildren, Penelope Peeples, Heidi Peeples, Howard Peeples, James Peeples, Ashtyn Warren, Aryka Warren, and Spencer Barnett; brother-in-law, Jerry Peeples and wife, Rhonda of Keenes, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Neil “Bud” Williams; infant sister, Sue Williams; and nephew, Neil Eddie Williams III.
