John Robert “Harley” Nichols, 59, of Centralia passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis.
John served his country with honor and pride in the United States Navy. The love he had for the military was apparent in his vast collection of military memorabilia. He also had many books on the military and was well-read on the subject. John was a true collector and liked to search flea markets for treasures such as Hot Wheels cars and military memorabilia. Time spent on the bank fishing with his family was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed the suspense of a good horror or sci-fi movie and loved to brush up on facts while watching the History channel. John was proud to provide for his family and made sure to be there for them in any way he could.
Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of John Nichols with arrangements. A private celebration of life service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Memorials may be made in John’s honor to the Family’s Wishes and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home. Along with his beloved wife of 21 years, Debra Nichols, survivors include his devoted family, daughter, Ashley Earle and husband Sean of Centralia; and sister, Linda Kasper of Homer Glenn.
