The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to move forward on the demolition of eight more substandard homes if improvements are not made. The Community Development Department is recommending the council authorize demolition of homes at 1024 South Elm, 522 South Maple, 202 West Kell, 215 West Second, 432 North Locust, 516 North Walnut, 1224 South Walnut and 123 West Kell Street to move forward.
The council will be asked to increase the number of Class A liquor licenses by one to allow for Hair of the Dog of Centralia, LLC at 325 South Polar to serve liquor. The business is an off leash indoor and outdoor dog park that will be leasing space from The Barking Lot of Centralia. When completed, the Barking Lot is offering overnight boarding, doggy daycare, grooming, training and retail services.
Under unfinished business is approval of an agreement with Curry and Associates Engineers, Inc. for engineering services pertaining to the construction of a new $25-million water treatment plant and raw water main extension to and from the plant.
The meeting gets underway at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
