New construction was off to a slow start in Centralia in January. The city issued only six building permits totaling $14,375.
Three of the permits were issued without charge to Mission Centralia to install wheel chair ramps at homes at 220 Janet, 520 Linden, and 225 South Sycamore.
A fourth permit was also for a wheel chair ramp at Ministerio Apostolico at 136 South Walnut Street.
The other two permits were for a shed at A and B Outdoor Equipment at 214 North Locust and for a fence in the 1300 block of West Broadway.
There were no demolition permits issued during the month.
