The SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital Health Weight Management Services has achieved accredition from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
The Medical Director of the Program, Dr. Naresh Ahuja, says the accreditation is testament of their desire at Good Samaritan Hospital to deliver top notch quality care at home. He says it also shows their attitude towards ongoing, relentless engagement in quality improvement projects.
To earn the accreditation, SSM Health Weight Management Services had to meet essential criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure and patient care
pathways, ensuring its ability to support patients with obesity. The center also participates in a national data registry that yields semiannual reports on the quality of its surgical outcomes and identifying opportunities for quality improvement.
