Miss Perry County, 19-year-old Addisyn Calloni of Dowell, has been crowned the 61st Miss Illinois County Fair Queen.
Calloni was crowned at the end of the 61st annual pageant held in Springfield over the weekend. Miss Effingham County Kaylee Phillips was second runner up. Miss Bond County Briana Ulmer received the award for Best Personal Interview. Miss Washington County Laney Renth was the People’s Choice Award Winner.
Calloni is currently attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale as a biological sciences major and hopes to enter a Physician Assistant Program. Calloni will be a summer employee of the Illinois Department of Agriculture. She will travel to about 30 county fairs and will be the official hostess of the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and the DuQuoin State Fair. As queen, Calloni’s main duty is to emphasize the importance of agriculture and county fairs to Illinois.
Calloni says she’s excited to learn more about agriculture, noting while there are no farmers in her family, they are surrounded by cornfields.
