Kaskaskia College President George Evans has announced that classes will start in person as scheduled on Monday.
Evans says the same precautions will be followed as last semester.
“Although we have seen an increase in numbers throughout the KC district we feel very strongly that our mitigation efforts are working. In a lot of the positive cases we have seen in our staff and student-athletes, they were contracted outside the campus and we are mitigating them effectively. There is really no reason for us NOT to start the semester in class. Our mask policy, we are still six feet apart, and the Governor’s mandate will continue to be enforced. We’re ready to see students again,” said Evans.
Evans had said before the Holiday break that if caseload continued to rise they may look at starting the first few weeks of classes remotely.
