The Salem Freshmen improved to 7-2 on the season with a 33-31 home win last night over visiting Effingham. The Wildcats were tied with less than 10 seconds left, but Miking Etress got free on the baseline and hit a short shot with 7 seconds left to give Salem the lead. They would hold Effingham off in the final position for the victory. Lyric Black finished with 7 points for Salem; Braden Rector added 5 along with Noah Nix. Etress finished with 4 points.
