The Sectional assignments have been released by the IHSA.
The Salem Wildcats will be part of a 2a sub-sectional that feeds into the Flora Sectional with regional hosts Pana and Greenville. Other teams include Marquette, Carlinville, Gillespie, Hillsboro, Litchfield, Piasa, Roxana, Staunton, Vandalia and Wood River. Robinson and Arthur will host the other sub-sectional regionals.
Feeding into Carterville will be regional hosts DuQuoin and Wesclin along with Althoff, Central, Mater Dei, Columbia, Chester, Freeburg, Nashville, Pinckneyville, Red Bud and Sparta. Eldorado and West Frankfort are the other 2 regional hosts.
In 3a feeding into the Highland Sectional will be regionals hosted by Centralia and Olney that feature Carbondale, Effingham, Herrin, Marion, Mascoutah, Mt Vernon and Waterloo. The other sub section will have regionals hosted by Cahokia and Chatham Glenwood.
Patoka and Dieterich are the regional sites for teams feeding into the 1a St Anthony Sectional that will also include Christ Our Rock, Sandoval, South Central and Carlyle among others.
The Salem Lady Wildcats will host a 2a regional along with Marshall with teams including Carmi, Fairfield, Flora, Lawrenceville, Mt Carmel, Newton, Palestine and Robinson.
In 3a feeding into the Highland Sectional, Herrin is one regional site with the other to be determined with teams including Carbondale, Centralia, Mt Vernon, Charleston, Effingham, Marion, Mattoon and Olney.
The Christ Our Rock girls will be part of the Brown County 1a Sectional with regional hosts Dupo and Carlyle. Sandoval is also included in that sub sectional. The South Central Lady Cougars will compete with regional hosts Altamont and Cumberland.
