The Centralia Holiday Tournament opened up yesterday. The day began with Mt Vernon routing the JV of Belleville West 78-33. They were taking the place of Dyett Academy who had to withdraw due to Covid. NJ Benson had 17 to lead the Rams.
The Centralia Orphans opened last night with an easy win over Kipp 57-28. Koby Wilmouth led the Orphans with 20 in the win.
Other first round scores from Centralia, Confluence Academy over Champaign Central 68-30, Romeoville beat Glenwood 59-54, Vashon over Lausanne 84-49, Evanston beat Cahjokia 70-43, Muhlenburg over Mundelein Carmel 58-53 and Belleville West knocked off the JV of Centralia 55-35. The Orphans JV replaced Chicago Marist who also dropped due to Covid.
On today’s schedule at Centralia the day begins with Belleville West JV against Champaign Central at 8:30, Glenwood and Lausanne at 10, Mt Vernon takes on Confluence at 12:30, Romeoville and Vashon at 2. Then Cahokia and Mundelein Carmel at 3:30, Evanston takes on Muhlenberg at 6:15, Centralia and Belleville West at 7:45 and Kipp and the Orphans JV at 9:15.
