Salem will be playing for the consolation championship of the Duster Thomas Tournament at Pinckneyville on Wednesday.
Salem advanced to the consolation semi-finals with a 43-27 win over Trico on Tuesday afternoon. They were scheduled to play Chester in the semi-finals, but Chester had to back out and forfeit the game. As a result, there will be no 10:30 Wednesday morning game for Salem as originally scheduled and Salem will move directly to the consolation championship at 3:30. Salem was led in their victory against Trico by Brandon Phillips with 20 points. Kaleb Anthony had five points before leaving the game with a leg injury.
