The Salem Lady Wildcats are home tonight for their regular season opener when they host West Frankfort on 100.1 FM and streaming at WJBDradio.com. Salem is coming off an 0-4 stint in their Thanksgiving Tournament. The Lady Cats fell to Highland on Saturday 54-40 after trailing just 40-34 after 3 quarters. Alesia Keller led Salem with 13, Katelyn Biegeleisen added 10.
TTown and Carterville finished with identical 3-1 records, but due to head to head, Carterville was named tournament champion. Centralia fell to Teutopolis 48-29 and Carterville beat the shoes 50-43.
Carterville’s Alecia Doyle was named Tournament MVP. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammate and sister Amayah Doyle; Salem’s Alesia Keller; TTown’s Kaitlyn Schumacher, Emily Konkel and Kaylee Niebrugge as well as Highland’s Grace Wilke and Centralia’s Jasaiyah Wallace.
