The Salem Lady Wildcats fell to 0-2 in Thanksgiving Tournament play with a 46-38 loss to Centralia in the only game of the night at B.E. Gum.
The Annies took a 12-2 lead early in the first quarter and never trailed. Alesia Keller led the Lady Cats with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Kaitlyn Biegeleisen finished with 10 including 2 made three pointers, Avery Bass had 9. Centralia got 14 points from Julyiah Rudder-Williams, Rylee Edson finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds, Jasayah Wallace had 9 points and 7 rebounds and Kalei Edson finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
The Annies were just 9-of-21 from the free throw line. Salem finished 10-of-18.
The Tournament continues today when games start at noon with Centralia and Highland followed by Salem and Carterville at 1:30 with that game being broadcast on WJBD, Highland and TTown play at 4 and then they day is complete with Carterville and Centralia at 5:30.
At the Pana Tournament, Christ Our Rock knocked off Central A&M 48-31. Mireya Rose finished with 17 in the win, Mati Stanart added 13. The Stallions will play Okaw Valley Saturday at 6pm.
At the Sparta Tournament, Freeburg beat Chester 58-31 and in overtime it was Trico over Steeleville 47-44.
