The Playoffs are beginning to near a close as we exit the quarterfinals and enter the semifinals. Here’s how yesterday’s games went, and what to expect in the semifinals.
In Class 2A:
Nashville defeated Pana 43-19 and will move on to play Decatur (St. Teresa), who beat Breese (Mater Dei) 48-18, in the semifinals.
In Class 3A:
Mt. Carmel beat Benton 30-14 and is moving on to play Tolono (Unity) in the semifinals.
In Class 4A:
Breese (Central) lost to Springfield (Sacred Heart-Griffin) 55-14 and will not be moving on.
In Class 5A:
Marion lost to Kankakee 44-38 and will not be moving on.
Mahomet-Seymour lost to Morton 40-28 and will not be moving on.
In Class 6A:
East St. Louis beat Lemont 42-21 and is moving on to play Crete (C.-Monee) in the seminfinals.
