UNDATED (AP) — UCLA is quickly showing that its trip to last season’s Final Four was no fluke.
Johnny Juzang scored 25 points and No. 2 UCLA overcame a 10-point, second-half deficit before defeating fourth-ranked Villanova, 86-77. Jules Bernard banked in a jumper that tied it at 67 with 30 seconds to go to force overtime.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 21 points and 13 rebounds and Bernard finished with 16 points for the 2-0 Bruins.
Jermaine Samuels scored 20 points and Collin Gillespie scored 18 points to lead the Wildcats.

— Jaden Ivey scored a career-high 27 points, Zach Edey added a career-best 22 and seventh-ranked Purdue routed Indiana State, 92-67. Ivey also had eight rebounds and four assists, while Edey contributed 10 rebounds and three blocks.
— No. 8 Baylor paired a celebration of its 2021 national championship with an 87-60 victory over Incarnate Word. Matthew Mayer scored 14 points, LJ Cryer had 13 and heralded freshman Kendall Brown debuted with 13.
— Wendell Moore Jr. had a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as ninth-ranked Duke whipped Army, 82-56. Freshman Paolo Banchero added 18 points for the 2-0 Blue Devils, who were coming off Tuesday’s season-opening win against No. 10 Kentucky.
— Tenth-ranked Kentucky blew past Robert Morris, 100-60 as Oscar Tshiebwe had 20 rebounds and 14 points. Kellan Grady had 19 points, including four 3-pointers for the Wildcats.
— Coleman Hawkins had 17 points and Andre Curbelo finished with eight points, seven assists and four rebounds for No. 11 Illinois in a 92-53 thrashing of Arkansas State.
— Eric Williams Jr. had 19 points and five rebounds as No. 13 Oregon hammered SMU, 86-63.
— Jahvon Quinerly scored 26 points and Jaden Shackelford had 23 to lead 14th-rated Alabama to a 104-88 victory over South Dakota State.
— Marcus Sasser scored 26 points and Kyler Edwards added 18 with six rebounds to highlight No. 15 Houston’s 79-45 drubbing of Rice.
— E.J. Liddell poured in a career-high 29 points and No. 17 Ohio State pulled away from Niagara in the second half for an 84-74 victory.
— North Carolina struggled against Brown before RJ Davis finished with a career-high 26 points and Armando Bacot had 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting in the 19th-rated Tar Heel’s 94-87 victory.
— Jabari Smith furnished 23 points and 10 rebounds for No. 22 Auburn in a 93-65 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
— Armaan Franklin scored 21 points and Jayden Gardner had 18 as 25th-ranked Virginia bounced back from its season-opening loss to Navy by dumping Radford, 73-52.
