Salem’s XC Season Ends…CORHLS Girls Heading To State

The Salem cross country season came to an end at the Decatur St Teresa Sectionals over the weekend.  The boys finished 17th.  Moving on as a team were Arthur, St Joseph Ogden, Monticello, St Teresa, Newton and Shelbyville.  For Salem, Caden Beer finished 54th, Alek Bandy 69, Ricardo Salgado 79, Branson Pappas 113, Jacob Ware 125, Titus Churchill 139 and Rylan Crane 150.

The Lady Cats were also 17th as a team with Tolono Unity advancing along with SJ Ogden Monticello, Urbana, Robinson and Marshall.  Leading Salem was Breanna Thurman in 65th, Ivy Donoho 97, Aila Laird 110, Jadeyn Goostree 115 and Olivia Powless 142.

The Christ Our Rock girls advanced to the 1a state meet finishing 6th at the Wesclin Sectional advancing by 1 point over Hamilton County.  Sarah McKowen led the way finishing 14, Kylie Eversgerd 23rd and Rylee Brammeier 25th.  Also advancing as a team were the Sectional champion Wesclin, Pinckneyville, Father McGivney, Mater Dei and Freeburg.
