Bobcats Finish Undefeated Season With Dominant State Championship, Lady Bobcats 4th

The Franklin Park Cross Country teams competed in the Class L State Meet in DuQuoin on Saturday, October 17th.   In the boys’ race, the Franklin Park Bobcats continued their perfect season with a State Championship.   Alex Spencer finished in 5th place.  Payton Gullion was 11th and Hunter Malan 13th.  Robby Shober was 16, Eli Baker 17, Avery Gullion 20, and Caleb Purintun 37.  There were 186 runners in the boys state meet.  The boys won the overall team competition with an impressive score of 56.  Waterloo was second with a score of 144.

The girls team came away with the 4th place trophy.  Kendall Zimmermann led the Bobcats with a 6th place finish out of 185 runners.   Caitlynne Bryan also medaled by getting 22nd place.  Gracie Dice was 38th.  Ella Robinsonm Finley Puricelli, and Kinsey Jarrett came in together as 56, 57, and 58.  Jordan Kessler was 78th.

Selmaville ran at Centralia’s Foundation Park in the Class S State Meet.  The Girls finished 5th overall and the boys were 12th.  Leading the way for the girls in the top 20 were Maci Thorsen 17 and Carly Veach 16.  The boys were led by Kyler Sapp who was 21st in 10:59 and Austin Woolridge was 30th.
