Still no word on when the state’s indoor mask mandate will be lifted.
Masks still need to be worn for now, since Illinois isn’t out of the woods yet says Governor JB Pritzker.
“I want to remind you if you go look at the new hospitalizations and the ones that are existing in total, that they are not dropping at the rate they were even a couple of weeks ago. I’m concerned about that, but generally speaking things are better than they were a couple of weeks ago so I’m hopeful.”
At last count, there were about 1600 Illinois Covid patients in the hospital and close to 2500 new cases. The Governor says recent surges of the Delta Variant in Minnesota and Michigan are also concerning.
