On Friday the Salem Lady Cats Golf Team members Kenzie Anderson and Alyssa Paul traveled to Decatur to compete in the IHSA Class 1A State Finals on the Red Tail Run Golf Course. The competition began on Friday with a total of 111 girls. Out of the 111 girls there were 12 six member teams competing for the team title. The remaining girls were competing as individuals.

Anderson and Paul had earlier advanced to compete as individuals from the Waterloo Sectional on October 4th. They were the first Salem Lady golfers to play in the state finals for a number of years. Paul posted a score of 98 on her first day and missed the cut for the 2nd day of play.

The 1st place team was the Mt Carmel Golden Aces with a team score of 604 (2 day total).

The 1st place individual was Gracie Piar from Marquette Catholic with a 2 day total score of 136.
