The Vandalia Vandals are the Class 1a State Boys Golf championship shooting 616t o nip North Shore Country Day by a single stroke and IC Catholic was one more stroke back for 3rd. St Anthony finished 4th. Chase Laack finished 2 strokes behind Drew Hall of Rockridge for the individual championship, Conner McCall was 4th for the Vandals. Christ Our Rock’s Parker Boehne finished tied for 16th shooting 153.
Benton was 2nd in the 2a competition going back and forth with St Ignatius College Prep 585-594 with Wheaton Academy 3rd shooting 603. Breese Mater Dei finished 6th and Althoff 11th. Benton’s Cy Norman won the event shooting 134 with rounds of 66/68. Mater Dei’s Carter Goebel led the Knights finishing tied for 11th shooting 146.
