There will be some local flair to the Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington starting tomorrow for the IHSA State Golf Tournaments. In Class 2a boys, none of the 4 Salem golfers advanced from the Effingham Sectional. Mater Dei will compete as a team along with Benton and Althoff. Breese Central’s Konnor Kueper and Myles Kampworth will join Mt Vernon’s Blaze Greathouse competing as individuals.
In 1a girls golf, Salem sophomore Alyssa Paul and senior Kenzie Anderson advanced from the Gibault Sectional to compete at state tomorrow. Teams that advanced were Mt Carmel, Marquette and Massac County.
In Class 1a boys, Christ Our Rock’s Parker Boehne advanced from the Hamilton County Sectional and will tee off as an individual. Also advancing from Hamilton County was Altamont’s Kevin Hall and Tyler Stonecipher. Area teams competing will be Oblong, St Anthony and Vandalia.
