Two men who were allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine following a weekend traffic stop by Salem Police were formally charged in Marion County Court on Monday.
45-year-old Michael Allison of Medlin Road in Centralia was charged with unlawful possession of between 15 and 100 grams of methamphetamine and unlawful use of a weapon.
A passenger in the car, 58-year-old Terry Atteberry of Centralia, was charged with unlawful possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. Atteberry allegedly had brass knuckles and two bludgeons in the car.
Bond for Allison was set at $50,000. He told the court he would hire his own attorney. If found guilty of the weapons charge, there is a mandatory two to ten year prison term.
Bond for Atteberry was set at $10,000. He had the public defender appointed to represent him.
