The Salem Lady Wildcats will head to the 1a Acorns Links in Waterloo today for Sectional golf after advancing as a team last week out of the Hamilton County Regional with their 2nd place finish. They join Mt Carmel, Nashville, Marquette, Litchfield, Father McGivney, Massac County, Zeigler, West Frankfort, Waterloo, Columbia, and Althoff. Qualifying teams and individuals will advance to the State Tournament.
Four Salem Wildcat boy golfers will play today at the 2a Effingham Country Club Sectional after advancing from last week’s Salem regional. Jairen Stroud, Caleb Harris, Steven Mulvaney, and Hunter Russell will represent the red and green today. Also, teams competing will be Mater Dei, Columbia, Althoff, Chatham, Highland, Jerseyville, Paris, Mt Zion, Mattoon, Benton, Massac County, and Mt Vernon.
The 1a boys sectional will be held at Green Hills in Mt Vernon and will include Christ Our Rock sophomore Parker Boehne who advanced out of the Gibault Regional. Teams competing will be Nashville, Gibault, Okawville, St Anthony, Oblong, Altamont, Anna, Steeleville, West Frankfort, Vandalia, Marquette, McGivney.
