Salem Police say three people involved in a two-vehicle crash on West Main at the Selmaville Road Saturday night refused hospital treatment for their injuries.
Police say a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Brenda Butts of Mills Cart Road in Salem was traveling westbound on West Main and attempted to make a left turn onto Selmaville Road after the traffic light had turned yellow. She crashed into an eastbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Janet Hinton of Pocahontas. The two drivers along with a passenger in the Butts’ vehicle, 60-year-old David Fletcher of Herrod, all declined hospital treatment.
Butts was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The Salem Fire Protection District was initially called to the scene but was stopped en route when the first Salem Police officer confirmed all those involved were out of their vehicles and while there had been a report of smoke coming from one of the vehicles there was no fire.
The crash occurred at 7:54 Saturday night.
