A 16-year-old Patoka juvenile girl received apparent minor injuries in a single vehicle crash in the 7300 block of McNichol Road south east of Patoka Thursday afternoon.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports the juvenile failed to negotiate a curve, lost control, exited the south side of the road, overcorrected, and then ran off the north side of the road, and overturned on the driver’s side in the roadside ditch.
The juvenile initially reported she was trapped in the vehicle, but was able to get out before emergency help arrived. She was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 3:19 Thursday afternoon.
