Governor JB Pritzker is reacting to lawsuits to try and block his masking and vaccine mandates.

All healthcare workers, college students and staff and pre-k through high school staff should have received their first dose by this past Sunday under the Governor’s mandate.  If they aren’t fully vaccinated, routine testing is required.  Pritzker is hopeful people will comply.

“What we’ve put in place is something that is workable, something that a vast majority of people are going to be following.  I know there are people that are attempting to challenge these things in court.  All I will say is this is a very unhelpful thing to do and it is going to make schools and healthcare settings less safe.”

For state workers in nursing homes, veterans homes and correctional facilities, they now have until November 18th to be fully vaccinated.
